Hi Ron,
Beautiful butterfly, great composition, colors and contrast. Brilliant playing with shadows and lights. However, I feel the wings are a bit oversharpened. Not much, just a touch.

Hi Sri,
Fantastic photo from you again, excellent composition, exposure, sharpness, colors. Perfect details on the white plumage, and very spectacular morning lights. Majestic shot. Bravo.

Hi Sri,
The photo's gorgeous, I love everything on it from lights to timing, but first of all composition, of course. However, personally I feel you were too sharp with Luciano in your answer.

Good evening neighbour! Beautiful composition, excellent macro. I feel the wing, especially the upper part, could be a little sharper, otherwise good shtuff. :-)

Hi Luciano,
it is very good and you know it certainly. What if you lower the Colour temperature? Maybe the butterly would even more stand out with its interesting colours. And maybe this is a matter of taste and of the reigning light condition. Just a thought.
I wish you a pleasant weekend ! Dietrich

Hi Hasan,
now I know that Peonia is out in the wild in your part of the country, beautiful ! I have only one problem with the picture, you turned it sidewise. It is also quite clear why you did it, the TN site does not present pictures in portrait position well. A way out would be to show the same picture on your own website and make a link in the note of the TN picture. It works, I tried it (see ). It is explained summarily in "About/ FAQ/ 12".

Hi Biswarup,
I like your White throated Kingfisher a lot because it's an "unusual" shot from behind and somewhat below, the sun behind you. Good ! In this way the brilliant blue colours dominate. The only small problem is the focus which is not on the eye. Thanks for presenting the wonderful bird. Greetings, Dietrich

as you say: always nice to see ... You got the moth completely flat, so you go to 1/800 sec and f/4 in normal daylight. Good result!

Hi Laurens,
this picture reflects the old spirit of TN: high quality, interesting subject, and a detailed note to go with it. Thanks to your high standards if ID we viewers even get introduced to a completely unfamiliar fauna. You deserve the highest order that TN has to bestow. Thanks for sharing your discoveries with us

Hi Luciano,
Beautiful composition. The exposure isn't bad either. Although (in my opinion) the big blown out patch in the top left corner is not distracting the photo, I'd like to look at the pic with 1/1600 or even with faster shutter speed also. However, as the overexposed patches are framing the butterfly very well, probably you used them as compositional elements and they're functioning well. Lovely image overall, congratulations!
Kind regards from Ireland, L谩szl贸

Hi Ron,
Fantastic composition with the jay's body forming a diagonal line through the whole photo. Very nice, patchy lights, they make the photo very interesting to the viewer - eventhough they're the photographer's nightmare. I also love the plain green background, which makes so strong contrast with the bright plumage. This image is, even being 9 years old, still a stunner. Congratulations! We're waiting for your return to the site, Sir...
