[Normas para las notas] Notas del fotógrafo
After altogether 10 trips to the Indonesian island Sulawesi, I could observe Danaus chrysippus for the first time there. Its relative Danaus genutia is obviously more abundant on the island than the former. In the eastern province Sulawesi-Tengah both species were present while I never observed D. chrysippus in Southest-Sulawesi (Sulawesi-Tenggara).

Hi Peter, spectacular close up of this common specie, but not in this area as i can read in your note.A magnificent capture in a classic pose, made in a fantastic sharpness and perfect colors,i like it! Thanks for share and Happy Easter,Luciano

Great macro.
Sharp, good compo.
It is not overexposed but I would have liked a brightness - 10%
On the other hand I have a Mac Retina screen at that often distorts.
But an Ipad does too so it depends where you publish.

Thanks for coming back with a superb picture of a Plain Tiger after such a long time, Peter.
Needless to say, it is a class apart image and composed beautifully with the butterfly straddling those white flowers.
Regards.
Ram

Hello Peter,

sharp macro of this butterfly.
The white spots are a little problem.

Thanks for sharing.

Hello Peter,

One of the most posted Butterfly here in TN which you have presented today. Plain Tiger is quite abundant in Indian subcontinent too. Very well captured. Nice details as well as sharpness. I like its composition too against such blurry green BG.
Due to harsh sunlight a few wild flowers look overexposed, Otherwise a nice butterfly picture.
Thanks for showing us this beauty,
Regards and have a nice WE,
Srikumar

Hello Peter,
Great close-up shot of this colorful butterfly, reminds me somewhat of the Monarchs we have here in Ohio. Excellent detail displaying rich vibrant colors. The white areas of the blooms may be a little blown out, but other wise exposure is great.

Great definition and beautiful contrast between green BG and colors of this Danaus chrysippus.
