Asian Paradise Flycatcher
Size: 22 cm
Description:
Distinguished from similar Japanese paradise-flycatcher, T. atrocaudata, by bright rufous (not blackish rufous) wings and tail. Male has elongated tail (20-25 cm); some males have white body and tail.
Voice:
it’s has a whistling song; during migration a soft theat.
Habits:
Found in all kinds of arboreal habitat, from primary lowland rainforest to deciduous woodlands at lower mountain altitudes. During migration, they can also be seen in mangroves, forest edges and scrub. A successful species, found solitary or in pairs. During peak migration occurs locally, in relatively high densities for a forest bird. It perches in the middle storey and catches flying insects.
