This bright red starfish was found by my Mum while snorkeling in spain. It was huge too, each arm was about 15cm at least!

I hope you like it! :-)

A beautiful Echinaster specimen captured just outside of its natural environment Joe, displaying its aboral side in fine colour and detail against the wet, rocky substratum. Thanks for sharing this nice and razor-sharp image my friend, hope you released the echinoderm back into its habitat after photographing it...

Hi Joe

What happened with your other butterfly macro? Just as i wanted to add my comment to it i got a message that it wasn't there any more...

Anyway, this is really a superb capture, as well!
The vibrant red color of this starfish is amazing and stands out so well, even from the thumbnail.
The details are very neat and sharp and i'm actually a bit amazed that you used your long macro lens to capture this big fellow :) Well anyway, the bottom line is that you managed a super shot of an animal we get to see very little of here on TN.

Bravo and TFS

An amazing discovery, mum...congrats;-)
