This moth is my first bigger moth!

These days I'm interested in moths. Maybe they will be my favourite soon :-) They are so beautiful and very attractive to me. I think that night time is the right time to photographing moths. I tried to photographing them at night, it is so funny really!

I used a layer of paper handkerchief as a diffuser to decrease harsh lighting effect of flash ...

UPDATE:
It is a Ematurga atomaria from Geometridae family. Many many thanks to Christopher for identification...

Ematurga atomaria:
Wingspan 22-30 mm.

Inhabiting heaths, moorland and open woodland, this rather variable species flies during the day, sometimes abundantly in sunshine.

It is common and appears in May and June, sometimes again in August.

The caterpillars, which are equally variable, feed on heather (Calluna), heath (Erica) and clovers (Trifolium spp).

Moths:
Most moths are known for their destructive caterpillars, which often cause considerable damage to plants and stored foods. Like butterflies, moths have four delicate wings that are covered with scales. Most have somber colours and fly at night but some have bright patterns and are active during the day. At rest moths fold the wings rooflike over the body, curled around the body, or flan against a support.

Excellent Ersin!
Never saw this specie.
Very good photo under the flash light!
Excellent DOF and details!
Very good POV and colour!
5* and TFS!

Hi Ersin, you got wonderful details even of the difficult antenaes, witn a good dark BG to show the shape nicely. I would have forced levels more to add just a bit more light.
The hanky seems to work very well, I use paper handkerchiefs, but I will have to try your diffuser, looks really soft.
Thanks for the photo and for the tips :)

Hi Ersin,
very well exposed and perfectly focussed shot.
Very well arranged, too.
Thank you! Best regards,

Hello Ersin,
Since you love flash I guess photographing moths at night will be something just for you! ;-) Interesting about the diffuser. I have a stripe of paper handkerchief sticked to the flash of my camera all the time. Because of that my camera looks a little strange, but the flash is always ready to use. I have feeling the pictures taken with diffuser look much better, not so harsh as without it.
Now back to the picture of your lovely moth ;-) I like it very much, especially the colours and details, they are veeery sharp.
VERY WELL DONE!
