"A SPECIAL MOMENT".

This is a VERY SPECIAL dedication to my aged Father-in-law, Jose Gomes; and, his wife, my Mother-in-law, Josefina Gomes.

This is "MY BACKYARD", my personal "SHANGRI LA". My Paradise, teems with wild life, flora & fauna. Here is a LARGER image of "MY BACKYARD".

You will see in, 'my backyard', a deer grazing quite openly. But, in ambush awaits a cougar to feed on it. These are species whose histories we can behold with the naked eye. The baby buck you see here was quite possibly mauled by a black bear.

In the open green lush meadows of 'my backyard' one can see BEAUTIFUL flowers of all sorts. Here too are TINY TINY creatures that are "grazing" peacefully just as the deer is. But, within the greenery and the flowers one will find the hunter & its prey being ambushed. AND THESE ARE THE ONES THAT ARE NOT SEEN WITH THE NAKED EYE.

You are witnessing,......
another "A SPECIAL MOMENT". A Soldier Fly foraging within the pollen of a wild DAISEY. It is looking for Aphids to feed on. It is also pollinating the Daisey without knowing that it is doing so. The Aphid is a mere simple vegeterian.

HOWEVER, if the Fly is NOT careful it will be devoured by a "CRAB SPIDER", waiting in ambush that is no bigger than a pin head.

Nicely dedicated. It is Portuguese name yes? I have some relations in Mendocino by that last name..very nice and clearly one of your sharper images..The spores give it some ooomph..

Amazing post. You have shared a plenty nice pictured of scenes, surrounding you. Main shot is a great close-up. Details of the fly and flower are ultimate. I like the most impressive POV and framing. Well done and all my compliments.
