Quite possibly you are viewing a CAROLINA CHICKADEE; and not a BLACK-CAPPED CHICKADEE. Please also read about the "NUTHATCH".
They look so similar, specially in flight. Boy!!! Are they ever fast. It has been about 3 years now that I tried & tried to register them. At long last I nailed a few of them including the Male & Female "NUTHATCH". Even these latter ones, in flight, at longer distances, and, to the naked eye, they look very much like the common "CHICKADEE".
A year ago I had found a tiny, tiny nest. Here it is: A TINY NEST. |

Hello Mario !
This is really lovely - here in France, the Black Tits (which look very alike to this one) are much more shy and they never climb on our hands like that. Must have been a great moment for you - thanks for sharing it with us. Very well done !
Valérie.
Namastay Mario,
A nice capture of this beautiful chickadee. Superb composition and very good details. Thanks a lot for sharing.
