"ASIAN WILD HORSE". = The Mongolian wild horse.

Also known as "Prezewalski's Wild Horse". And, if you click on the title above you will see the subject ENLARGED.


They are the last truely wild horse speices found in the world. This Asian wild horse was named after Russian explorer Nicolai Prezewalski, who discovered them in 1879. Unfortunately, it survives only in zoos and preserves.

Attempts are underway to introduce it into parts of it's former range within Mongolia.

They are MAGNIFICIENT, MAJESTIC looking creatures.

I fell in love with them, at once.

Sorry it has taken me so long...I have been swamped...but could not help and comment on th is one...i have not seen it but in pictures and this picture is the best Ive seen of it...so there ya go! Fine lesson as well my good buddy from N of the 49th!

I am completely fond of horse, and I know this species very well - the only real wild horse still alive. They are the ancestors of the horses I learned to ride on, when I was younger, and I have seen the once, in a zoo. Wonderful animals. Unfortunately, we do not see them very often on TN, so I'm happy you posted this picture. Vey well done !
