"WOODPECKER II"
Don't know the EXACT type. However, I do know it to be a "WOODPECKER" because of its distinct 'call'. I heared it in the back of our home. It then flew to the tree in front of our home.
It actually "POSED" for me; most friendly. THIS IS A BABY WOODPECKER.
Do you recall "WOODPECKER"? (Had used a cheap cheap Canon to register this fellow.) However, if you go to the "slidecast" within this page, also my creation, you can hear a LOVELY MEXICAN melody. Was learning about this, our hobby, in those days. Had also posted on Flickr A Clown Woodpecker stating thus: "This baby Woodpecker and its siblings were born behind our home in the tall trees. I registered this one at 3:33 pm on 7/11/ 2007 with the Sony DSC H9 and the tele. (11th. July 2007.) These 3 fellows were real clowns. They have a very "distinct" special song.Very very cute species.
Here is the result of our comradeship:
RED UNDERWEAR.
A LITTLE SCRATCH.
MARIO IS MY PAL.
A TINY SNOOZE.
YOU WOKE ME UP.
YOU WOKE ME UP 'ENLARGED'.
SUPER CROPPED.
Have left the best of these series for last. |

Hi Mario
This is a Northern Flicker. I've had them at my bird feeder on rare occasions. The Northern Flicker have a very unique colour pattern and you captured it well.
Have a great weekend!

You are way too cool...but you need to go and get that cataract surgery! It is easy..i had it done at 61 years old.

Hi, dear friend.
You have shared a nice set of pictures of this cute baby. It is very nice that such beauties live near your house. All shots ate very colourfull and nice. This one is cropped very attractively. Thanks for post and pleasure. My kind regards from warm Odessa.
Alexei.
Thanks for the clicks to your compendium, Mario. I like this one, and I like the others on flickr, too. Of the bunch, probably Red Underwear is my personal favorite. But this is nice. The perspective is rich in color, a little bit unusual, arguably creative.
TFS,
Jim
