"RED-WINGED BLACKBIRD".

It does have a female: Please see W/S.

The Red-winged Blackbird (Agelaius phoeniceus) is a passerine bird of the family Icteridae found in most of North and much of Central America. It breeds from Alaska and Newfoundland south to Florida, the Gulf of Mexico, Mexico and Guatemala, with isolated populations in western El Salvador, northwestern Honduras and northwestern Costa Rica. It may winter as far north as Pennsylvania and British Columbia, but northern populations are generally migratory, Red-winged Blackbird, moving south to Mexico and the southern United States. The Red-winged Blackbird is sexually dimorphic, Need a mate; the male, HANDSOME, is all black with a red shoulder and yellow wing bar, while the female, What a lovely gal, is a nondescript, Female Red-winged Blackbird, dark brown.

Seeds and insects make up the bulk of the Red-winged Blackbird's diet.

The Red-winged Blackbird inhabits open grassy areas. It generally prefers wetlands, and inhabits both freshwater and saltwater marshes. It is also found in dry upland areas, where it such inhabits meadows, prairies, and old fields. Freedom.

The call of the Red-winged Blackbird is a throaty check and a high slurred whistle, terrr-eeee. The male's song, Courtship song, is a scratchy oak-a-lee, accompanied with a display of his red shoulder patches. Male Red-winged Blackbird.

The Red-Winged Blackbird can be very aggressive while defending its territory. It will attack much larger birds, such as crows, ravens, magpies, hawks, and osprey if they enter. They have even been known to attack humans who encroach upon their territories. VERY TRUE!!! Female red-winged Blackbird.

In some parts of the United States, they are considered to be pests because these flocks can consume large amounts of cultivated grain or rice. This bird's numbers are declining due to habitat loss and the use of poison to prevent the loss of crops.

Hi, dear Mario.
We have not this species and I like to watch it here. Despite the almost black colouration you managed to exposure shot very well and plumage of the bird is reproduced perfectly. I like precise timing and pictured moment too as well as attractive twig and scene at whole. Well done and TFS.
Yours Alexei.

Bonne journée et bravo JP

Hello Mario !
It's been a while since I last visited your gallery, I see there are some new shots I missed when you posted them - among them, this is my favourite. I love the colos of this bird, black and red, and I also like the wonderful pose in which you have captured him. The blue sky makes a lovely BG, too. Very well done !
Valérie.
