I like this cute animal which stands among so nice dry grass. Pictured scene is excellent and attractive. Composition of the shot is blameless as well as delicate natural colour palette and lighting. Thanks a lot for charming pictures.

A truly awesome shot of this buck! He does indeed look impressive and deserves to be the dominant male!
I really like your capture - with the terrific pose you got as well as with that fantastic pale light coming from the right. That early morning sun really gives this picture that edge, that small but very important element we photographer always search for in our work! Just brilliant!
The details are also wonderful and very sharp, the DOF is impeccable and brings out the deer from the BG nicely and the natural colors are just beautiful!
Just one more thing: i just love those black markings on his snout - they look like thick mustaches :))
Bravo and TFS

Hello Rick, I don't know you much but I'm glad he didn't challenge you, what if you lose? ;-) This is a great photo, I think the surroundings of the buck gives it its essence: the dried herbs with all the shades of colours and tones really impress me. The animal is well captured with its nose scenting the wind. Thank you!

Great shot of this buck sniffing the wind.I saw a few doe running around in the woods and heard the low grunts in the woods of the buck.
They were so tuckered out their tongues were hanging out.
I really like the natural setting with the brown grasses.
This fellow is well placed in the frame. He has an impressive rack ,th epose you captured shows him off well.

Somehow I have overlooked you my neighbor to the north.I thought perhaps this might be a good introduction since I have met Mr Mule deer many times but none so grand as this particular one. I am sure I would have remembered.
I can easily see when it was taken and I am also glad you are snot having the wet problem as per snow which we are here in E Washington on the W end of the divide. Your weeds and grasses looked about same as this a week ago...yet this was taken today. I hear your contrasts are better and this must be true for your image shows only a partially clear sky. Yet it is enough to show the details well...
A very nice image Rick,if I may call you that. I am happy to make your pictorial acquaintance.

Great sharp capture of a Mule deer buck taken in a good pose, from a fine POV and in good side lighting. Excellent light colored autumnal dead vegetation BG that forms a fine contrast.
Well done and thanks,
