I need to cool down after my post of yesterday with the bright and vibrant colours and come back to that time of year, as Christmas is getting closer. I want to thank everyone who commented on my post of yesterday, I appreciate comments and critics as well, it's the only way to learn. I posted this photo which was far from being perfect, aside the "tremendous" colours ;-) that I really like, to sharpen my sense of auto-critic and refine it. And every comment was welcome and helped.

On a cooler side, my reality is snow everywhere. It has been falling south of Quebec the whole night and today too. A friend of mine who lives south of Quebec told me they have snow up to their waist. She lives in the mountain (she's my friend who was holding the little frog on a previous photo I posted). Here, at a more north latitude, it snowed last night. This photo was shot after last week's snow, on Sunday, with bright sunshine.

I love the snow on the branches of the trees. It accumulates on the branches of the trees as edges (I have no vocabulary for anything concerning snow in English!) or as big fluff on spruce branches.

I liked the light on this low pine branch and once again, photographing snow is not always an easy task. I over exposed for this one a little too much as I had to under expose it to get the result I had seen. Hope you enjoy and that the coming festivities will be great for each of you.

I find it very intriguing how you see an image and how you apply your own visual sight through the lens. It is a process which one cannot imitate. Heaven does it well too...there is another who did a minimalist version of something as this. This might be something called the "personal psychology of nature through pictures." It includes facets which are unique to each individual such as a mind/watermark. There was a group in Ireland who studied the devas and such lightness of beings within the nature world..Findhorn I believe it was...founded by Peter Caddy...not sure of spelling. it is search able but I think since Peter passed away after moving to the Mt Shasta area...it has sort of morphed into more of an esoteric cult...but for what it is worth, some of their older texts are quite intriguing...

This is truly a unique and interesting image. the lineds created by the light and snow drift edge is very nice. I also like what you did on the exposure, thanks Francine.

A great abstract shot. I like the way that the light is reflected off the ridges and the scalloping on the sides.

Salut Francine,
Tu as dû surexposer cette neige parce qu’elle était éclairée de face. Si tu avais fais le contraire tu aurais probablement dû la sous exposer. C'est une belle composition et prise de vue. Pour être bien honnête avec toi, je préfère tout de même quand la neige montre des reflets bleus; ici, ils me semblent plus dans les tons brunâtres :) De toute façon, c'est une bonne idée originale que tu as bien réalisé. Merci!

Hello Francine

This is a neat POV .The composition is well done.
I like the repetition and the diagonal look .
The DOF is very good and the colourful and bright OOF BG is beautiful.
