The Australian fresh water crocodile (Crocodylus johnstoni) is a relatively small crocodile (Males can grow to 2.3–3 m long, while females reach a maximum size of 2.1 m) and only exist in the Northern inland parts of Australia. This one was a rock in the middle of the isolated Cobbold Gorge and was quite large - in the 2-3m range so probably a male.
"Freshies" as they are known don't have a huge mouth so aren't especially dangerous to people although if cornered than can give a nasty bite.
I took this from a small boat that you can take through the magnificent gorge. It was only about 3 metres away.

Hi Ian,the colors of crocodile and of the rocks are the same, but this isn't a well done camouflage..ahahha...magnificent capture of big one despite the distance, the sharpness is the best as possible! Have a nice day and thanks,Luciano
