Tawny Frogmouth Podargus strigoides

A friend sent me a very detailed map to find these guys. And I spent near an hour between a few trees. I couldn't find and I got bored. Than I went to another very well known park in Sydney. I was taking pictures of other birds and suddenly I saw them. It is really difficult to tell this but I was feeling that I will find them shortly. Here they are :)

The Tawny Frogmouth, Podargus strigoides, is an Australian variety of frogmouth, a type of bird found throughout the Australian mainland, Tasmania and southern New Guinea. The Tawny Frogmouth is often thought to be an owl.

Males and females look alike, and are 35–50 cm long. They have yellow eyes and a wide beak topped with a tuft of bristly feathers. They make loud clacking sounds with their beaks and emit a reverberating booming call.

Owls fly around at night hunting food, but Tawny Frogmouths generally remain sitting very still on a low perch, and wait for food to come to them. They catch prey with their beaks, and sometimes drop from their perch onto the prey on the ground.

these are such amazing birds, TSF Ori

Merhaba Fatih,
I will try to open my eyes wide next time on the Sydney parks :)
Certainly they seems to camouflage with the trunk's bark, and I found very interesting the slight different hues on each plumage, brownish on the upper-left and blueish for the lower-right.
Good work and thanks for share.
My best regards,
JM
