An exquisite portrait of this Arctic Wolf. And a passage from a poem by one of my favorite poets. The eyes have it - they are magnificent - as though he is deep in thought. Fine details of the face and coat with the wonderful shades of white. Looks marvelous against the dark background.

Hi Wolf and nice to meet you :)
I guess with such a name, this fits perfect as a first photo :) Touche!
Seriously now, this is a lovely portrait and an excellent beginning for your gallery here.
The tight close-up shows us this beautiful arctic wolf, with excellent details and a great attention given to the exposure (retaining the finest details even from the brightest parts).
Very good composition and spot-on DOF, too, with a nice note and poem to complete this delightful presentation.
Bravo and thanks for sharing

First I thought it was a pet dog, but when I read your note, I was touched by it, Wolf. Robert Frost's poem goes well in it.
An Arctic Wolf is a handsome creature and your portrait of it is very attractive.
The image is also technically perfect.
Welcome to TN and looking forward to seeing your forthcoming pictures.

Suddenly a very BIG void has been filled again here on TrekNature. This wolf passed via my visual senses and stepped right (back) into my heart. The presentation "reminds me of a dear friend" I once had the privilege and pleasure to know on this site ;o). But wait, look again, mmmm, that can't be, yes it can, no it's not, yes it is, oh me goose bumps, why not? Aaaah, what a pleasure to be reintroduced to 2 old friends. WELCOME to the site and three cheers for a prosperous, prolonged and enjoyable stay.
I just love the pensive expression of this wolf. It almost seems as if it is reminiscing of days gone past and remembering the good times. At the same time it also might remember lessons learned, where to feed on the good stuff, which areas to avoid for the threat of lurking dangers like "tigers and mamba snakes" (chuckle). Then again it might also look like the wolf may be anticipating (with high hopes) better days once again.
The photographer's expert knowledge of the subject clearly shows in the final image. The composition is excellent; cutting the animal's neck at the right measure and with superb spacing in the cropping that befits this portrait. The sharp detail is a WOW, the exposure on the white fur is another WOW as that ensured perfect contrasts and outstanding lighting of the subject. Finally, that expressive eyes says it all. Pure magic.
Well done MF and TFS.

Fire & Ice? Fryer & Fries!
So many things race thru a Cockney mind!
And in the end it comes down to how you fried them fries.
The arctic wolf is by and large still on a "clean" diet, shown here
in this quiet portrait. The wolf appears to be "at peace", but fully alert. Nice moment to capture in a portrait of this oft maligned creature.
Well presented and thanx "Wolf-pow-pow-er".

Hello Deer Wolfie, I had not seen you in a while... isn't it strange how strong feelings can be, and the love of your pictures passed right through my heart when I saw this beautiful animal. No need to introduce yourself, wolves and deers and many others will follow in a path for you to open. Hé hé!

WOW! I want to know more about your work with these amazing creatures. I watched a show on tv last night about a man, Shaun Ellis, who literally integrates himself into the pack. Amazing but scary. I think I'd choose a pack of wild bunnies personally.
Anyway, this photo is amazing. There is calm and strength on your friend's face. The photo is wonderful technically and moving on another level. Thank you.
