| The title I gave this photo of mine is that of a pair of American White Pelicans whom of their own freewill have chosen to live at the Calgary Zoo.These birds can fly and leave the Zoo at anytime time they have the mind too but with a good fish supply why would they.Beside the zoo is the Bow River and is the place where these birds can often be seen along with Osprey and numerous other birds. These birds have been photoed on a portion of the Bow River that flows right through the zoo. These two and another were feeding on fish and were fairly close enough for me with the lens I used to get some very nice details.I have been to other zoos here in Canada and so far every one of them has areas where wildlife can come and go as it pleases and so not all animals are inmates against their will.Freedom in a Zoo,who would of thought that?I hope you enjoy these two very large white birds and can get to see them in your travels too. Hi Bob. They know when they are on to a good thing .You have been able to take this with such rich colours and fine detail. The orange of the long bill stands out so well TFS.
Nick..
Hello Bob
a superb shot of this two white pelicans in a nice and great illuminated environment, wonderful pose, sharpness and composition
in Rhodes, a park not too far from where i live, it's the same, the birds are free but stay there while the lakes and vegetation in this park are a great bird paradise
Have a great WE
