|Trying out techniques for shooting Insects in flight-11 :|
when everything else failed, I tried the good old method of the snapshot. This can work only with animals of a reasonable size so it can be followed in the viewer and manual focusing is possible. Here I present a Swallowtail landing on Parsnip. It is not gliding to its destination but it applies a last downstroke breaking the descent. The legs feather the touchdown. Ouch, the animal is worn !
Technical stuff: 1/4'000 sec, F/5.6, ISO 800, Tele 600 mm equivalent, serial shots.
