This Tiger Swallowtail devolped in our Kitchen.
On 12/23/06 it came out of it's cacoon, it took
some time for it's beautiful wings to dry.
When it was ready it took of as one of nature's
most beautiful insects. |

How exciting to have watched the whole process from caterpillar to butterfly! How sad, too, when he finally flew away to begin his new life. At least you got a crisp photo of his leaving, and perhaps a pose in a way of saying "thank you for taking care of me" so to speak. I might only request a little more cropping to bring him closer so I could see his markings a little clearer - otherwise a sweet shot!
