| Introducción: | Hi there! I'm a retired school teacher. I was born in a small village in the Western Himalayas. The place is called Chamba in Himachal Pradesh. I spent my early years in the mountains and after completing my education, I moved down to the plains of India in search of better employment. Had dreamed of returning home after retirement, but then dreams are always elusive, aren't they? Now I live in the suburbs of New Delhi, the capital of India, and never stop thinking about my native place, mostly nostalgically. My love for nature was never cultivated; having been born and brought up in the mountains, I just inherited it. As a school teacher, I was able to fulfil my dream of looking at some of the most famous Himalayan giants such as Mt. Everest, Kanchenjunga, Annaprnas, Dhaulagiri, Nanda Devi and so on. Working in a residential school for 12 years and later as the Head Teacher of another school, I organized numerous low and high altitude treks to the Himalayas. I was able to inculcate in my students a deep love for the mountains and many of them as grown up individuals continue to pursue hiking, trekking and climbing quite passionately. Though I loved to take nature pictures, I could not afford a camera in my younger days. By the time I could afford one, I was already too old to climb a hill, leave alone a mountain! So as an old man, I now take pictures of bugs and birds and post them on TrekNature. But I love doing it and will continue doing it until senility grabs me or the moderators of TN throw me out.
