thank you for your feedback.I was as near as 12 feet at one point to this bird and with this shot I was about 18 feet from it.I was near enough to have used flash but I do not care for what that does to their eyes so when it comes to birds I choose not to use flash,red eyed birds that are not red eyed are just to strange for my tastes.The actual size on my monitor is a little larger than the bird is for real as are many fox photos I have taken this year.I like to see how close I can get and not cause my wild friends concern however I wouldn't be so brazen with moose,elk or bears.I have only been attacked on three occasions by a grebe,Canada geese and one mean spirited blue jay but the raptors have given me the willies at times,best not to tempt fate.
